How Laundry Pickup and Delivery Works in Singapore: One Order, Door to Door
A collected order leaves your door on our own van, is itemised and assessed at our Queenstown facility, cleaned in-house by the same team that handles walk-in work, and comes back on a delivery window agreed with you by message. Collection is usually the next day. Standard turnaround is one week from collection.
Only the first step asks anything of you. Nothing needs counting, listing or sorting before the van arrives, and where a piece turns out to need specialist work, the price and the timeline are confirmed with you before any of it starts.
What happens between booking a pickup and getting the order back?
Seven things happen to a collected order, and you are involved in two of them: the booking at the start and the delivery at the end. Below is the whole route in order, with the part that falls to you marked at every step.
-
Book a laundry pickup
A WhatsApp message or a call to +65 8488 3233. Nothing needs counting or listing first. Weekly and fortnightly schedules are set up in the same message and then simply run.
What it needs from youRoughly what is going, and where you are.
-
Collection of the laundry from your home
Usually the next day, on a window agreed with you by message rather than assigned from a timetable. Our own driver and van collect; the order is not handed to a third-party courier.
What it needs from youSomeone present to hand the laundry over, or a safe place for us to pick it up from.
-
Itemisation of the laundry at Rosabelle’s facility
Everything is counted and recorded against your order on arrival at 163 Stirling Road, so what came in is what goes back, and the count exists from the first hour rather than being reconstructed at the end.
What it needs from youNothing.
-
Assessment of the laundry
Each piece is assessed for fibre, construction and soil before a cleaning method is chosen for it. This is the same fibre-by-fibre judgement described in our guide to wet cleaning and dry cleaning.
What it needs from youNothing.
-
Cleaned in-house at Queenstown
By the same team and to the same standard as anything brought over the counter. Specialist pieces move onto their own processes here: leather to the garment care team, gowns to bridal assessment.
What it needs from youNothing.
-
Delivery scheduled, and the bill sent
We message you when the order is finished and agree the delivery window. If something did not come out, or a piece was left as it was, you hear it then rather than at the door. A copy of the bill goes out at the same time. Most people settle it by PayNow before the van leaves; cash on the doorstep is still fine.
What it needs from youAgree a delivery window, and settle the bill.
-
Delivery of the laundry back to your home, clean and fresh
On the agreed window.
What it needs from youSomeone present to receive the laundry, or a safe place for us to hang or leave it.
What can you hand over, and what needs its own service?
Bulky pieces are where collection earns its keep — a king duvet, a rug, a winter coat, curtains already off their hooks are all things that are genuinely awkward to carry in yourself. If the curtains are still on the track, that is a different service: take-down and rehanging sends someone to do the ladder work at both ends, from $200 per trip or 25% of the cleaning total for larger homes, whichever is higher.
If something is urgent, say so when you book: you will get an honest answer about whether it can be done, rather than a yes that turns into a problem later.
What happens when one order holds several kinds of work?
Most orders do. A bag with shirts, a duvet and a leather jacket in it is three processes, not one, and they separate at the facility and come back together before delivery. The consequence worth knowing is that the pieces finish at different times.
| Piece | Turnaround from collection | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary garments, shirts and workwear | One week. | Dry cleaning & laundry |
| Wash, dry and fold | One week. | Washed on its own, never mixed with another household |
| Bedding and duvets | One week. | Bedding & home |
| Curtains | Five working days and upwards. | Curtain cleaning |
| Carpets and rugs | About ten working days. | Loose pieces only; no fitted wall-to-wall, no on-site work |
| Leather, suede, shearling and fur | Two weeks and upwards. | A separate in-house process, run by our garment care team |
| Wedding gowns | Quoted after inspection, from $190. | Assessed as restoration, not as ordinary cleaning |
| Alterations | About ten working days combined with the clean. | Alterations & repairs |
Where the spread is wide, we agree with you which way to run it: hold the whole order until the slowest piece is ready, or deliver in two parts. Neither costs more, and it is a better conversation to have at the start than on the day you expected everything back.
What does the pickup and delivery itself cost?
Delivery is free on standard orders of $100 and above. Below $100 there is a flat $20 delivery charge, and you should read that here rather than hear it at the door. Two things sit outside that: express orders are chargeable whatever the order comes to, because the time constraint changes how the run has to be made, and restricted-access locations — Sentosa, Tuas, offshore sites and secured estates — carry a surcharge for the access arrangements. Both figures vary by case and are confirmed with you when you book.
Ordinary garments run on the published rate and simply appear on the bill. Specialist work is different: leather, a gown or heavy stain work gets a price and a timeline agreed with you before any of it starts, and nothing proceeds until you say yes.
The bill goes out before the delivery run, with the order. Most people settle it by PayNow in advance; cash on the doorstep is still accepted. Card payment is available at our Orchard shop but not on delivery.
The honest note
What pickup and delivery does not change
Collection removes the trip. It does not remove the work, and it does not shorten it. An order collected from your door runs to exactly the same turnaround as the same order carried into the shop, and a specialist piece keeps its own timeline once it lands — two weeks and upwards for leather, about ten working days for carpets, typically three weeks and up for restoration work. If you need something faster than that, express is a separate paid arrangement, not a favour we can do quietly on the van.
The other limit is access. "Islandwide" is true, with the qualification that Sentosa, Tuas, offshore sites and secured estates carry a surcharge for the arrangements involved. We would rather quote it at booking than surprise you with it.
What do people get wrong about laundry pickup and delivery?
- “Collected orders go to a bulk plant.” They go to our own facility at 163 Stirling Road and are cleaned by the same team as walk-in work.
- “I should count and list everything first.” The itemising is done at the facility regardless, and we confirm the count back to you.
- “Free delivery means no minimums.” Delivery is free at $100 and above; service minimums are separate and still apply.
- “Having it collected is faster.” It is the same turnaround, counted from collection instead of from drop-off.
- “A wash, dry and fold bag comes back ironed.” It does not. Pressing is quoted separately.
Guide by Rosabelle Launderette's garment-care team. Technical review: Zach Lim.
Workshop: Rosabelle Launderette, Singapore, established 1998. Collection, cleaning and delivery are all run in-house; no part of the route is subcontracted. Figures describe the published terms at the date below and are confirmed with you at booking.
Updated 21 September 2026: rewritten to follow a single order door to door as seven numbered steps, with the per-piece turnaround table and the separation of delivery charges from service minimums added, and the standard turnaround stated as one week from collection.

Questions about pickup and delivery
What happens to my laundry after it is collected?
It goes straight to Rosabelle Launderette’s own facility at 163 Stirling Road, Queenstown. There it is itemised piece by piece against your order, assessed for fibre, construction and soil, cleaned and finished by the same team that handles walk-in work, then returned to you on a delivery window agreed by message. Nothing is passed to a third-party plant and nothing is handed to a third-party courier at either end.
Do I need to count or list my items before a laundry pickup?
No. Tell us roughly what is going and where you are, and hand the bag over as it is. The counting happens at our Queenstown facility, where every piece is recorded against your order, and we confirm that back to you afterwards. Preparing a list beforehand saves nothing, because the itemising is done again on arrival either way.
Who collects my laundry — a courier or your own staff?
Our own driver and van. Rosabelle does not hand collections to a third-party courier, and the order stays with us from your door to the Queenstown facility and back. It is the same reason the cleaning is not subcontracted: one order, one chain of custody, one team answerable for it.
Will you tell me the price before you start cleaning?
For specialist work, yes. Ordinary garments run on the published rate and simply appear on the bill, which we send before delivery. Where a piece needs specialist work — leather, a wedding gown, heavy staining, a delicate material — we come back to you with the price and the timeline before any of it starts, and nothing proceeds until you agree to it.
What happens if one order contains both ordinary clothes and a leather jacket?
The order is split by process once it reaches the facility and reassembled before delivery. Ordinary garments run one week from collection; leather, suede and fur go to our garment care team on a separate in-house process and run two weeks and upwards. We agree with you whether to hold the whole order until the slowest piece is ready or deliver in two parts.
How will I know when my collected order is ready?
We message you when the order is finished and agree the delivery window from there. If something did not come out, or a piece needed to be left as it was, you hear that in the same message rather than at the door. A copy of the bill goes out with that message: most people settle it by PayNow before we deliver, and cash on the doorstep is still accepted.
Does having laundry collected make it come back faster?
No. Collection removes the trip, not the work. Standard turnaround is one week, counted from collection, the same as dropping the bag at either shop, and specialist pieces keep their own timelines — leather two weeks and upwards, carpets about ten working days, restoration typically three weeks and up. Express is a separate paid arrangement, chargeable whatever the order comes to, and is confirmed when you book.
