Leather Cleaning in Singapore
Leather lives differently here. Humidity finds leather fast in Singapore: mould, stiffness, and fading arrive quietly. We clean and condition jackets, handbags, wallets, and suede, each piece treated for what its hide actually needs.
What leather and suede we clean
Most leather specialists here won't touch garments; most garment cleaners won't touch leather. We handle both: jackets, vests, handbags, wallets, gloves, and sheepskin, which matters when a single wardrobe holds all of them.
Mould treatment is the most common request in this climate, followed by oil transfer, colour dullness, and stiffness from poor storage. Storage is also where musty odour in a hide and yellowing on a pale bag begin. Aggressive cleaning strips the finish along with the dirt; the skill is in removing one without the other.
One thing worth knowing upfront: leather is the least predictable material we handle. Tanning method, previous treatments, storage, and years of wear all shape what a hide can tolerate; two jackets that look identical can respond very differently to the same treatment. Assessment always comes first, and our read on your piece applies only to that piece.

Common questions
Frequently asked
Can you dry clean a leather jacket?
Not with conventional dry-cleaning solvent, which strips the natural oils leather needs and can dry the hide toward cracking. Leather is a separate specialist process: the hide cleaned and conditioned for what it actually needs, because aggressive cleaning removes the finish along with the dirt. We clean jackets, handbags, suede, and sheepskin this way, each assessed individually first.
Can mould be removed from leather?
Often — but leather varies more than any material we handle. Tanning, age, storage, and wear all affect what treatment a hide can take, and deep-set mould that has stained the hide itself may leave permanent shadowing. We assess each piece and tell you what's realistic for yours before starting.
Do you clean branded handbags?
Yes — we've cared for pieces from recognised houses and independent designers alike. Every bag is assessed individually; hardware, lining, and trim are all considered before treatment.
How should I store leather in Singapore?
Away from sealed plastic, with airflow, out of direct sun, ideally with silica gel nearby. Sealed wardrobes in humid rooms are where most of the mould we treat comes from.
How long does leather cleaning take?
Generally two weeks and upwards; it varies with what needs to be done and the complexity of the piece. We'll give you a timeline at drop-off.

Guide prices at Rosabelle are $160 for jackets, $180 for handbags, $75 for wallets, and $100 for vests.
